Eloy America Latina: Wastewater Treatment to Preserve Our Environment

“Out of sight, out of mind” is the mindset many people have regarding their waste water. Once it’s flushed away, it’s easy to forget about your personal waste and the problems it might be causing the environment. The folks at Eloy America Latina think differently though—they know that forgetting about the waste can be seriously detrimental to our earth and they are doing something to change that.
Eloy America Latina specializes in wastewater treatment for individuals, businesses, and small communities that are not connected to a sewage system. From family homes and residential homes to office buildings and restaurants, these people still need to effectively treat their wastewater, and Eloy offers a way to accomplish that. The company offers advanced biological water treatment plants that purify septic water so that it meets national and international standards and can safely be used for irrigation through a dripper system. As Eloy says, “It is now possible to have a home ‘micro-treatment station’ that will treat your wastewater efficiently and responsibly.”
The benefits—both personal and environmental—for using Eloy systems are numerous. Eloy products protect the environment by minimizing the amount of septic waste deposited into it, cleaning the wastewater, and then saving water by re-using it in an irrigation drip system. The irrigation system not only conserves water, it also replenishes the earth, making it great to use during the dry season here. Using Eloy water treatments help reduce pollution of rivers, oceans, and groundwater. Also, through the process of biological filtration, the system uses very low power for operation (60 watts for a 4EH).
As for personal benefits, Eloy has a product for everyone, from systems that can support three to 400 people, to septic tanks and water tanks. All of the systems are prefabricated, making them quick and easy to install. The products are also compact and fully integrated. The treatment process is efficient, with the water reaching a 95 percent purification level. Virtually no maintenance is needed—like a conventional septic tank, simply empty it once a year (or longer, depending on usage)—and the company offers regular maintenance visits to ensure everything is working properly. Plus, the company stands behind their products and systems so resolutely that they provide a two-year guarantee for all of their systems and products.
Taking care of the environment is everyone’s responsibility; as Eloy states, “Sustainable development [is]… a respectful and responsible attitude… society today must manage natural resources to satisfy its needs without harming the society of tomorrow. It is now essential to protect our resources.” Advances and solutions in sustainable development are important to preserve our environment for the future and Eloy is doing everything it can to help with that goal.
Founded in Costa Rica in 2007 by Yves Deweer and Nicolas Huet, Eloy is located in the Guanacaste Province, with offices all over the Tamarindo and Playa Grande area. Deweer worked as the president of a local water association in Potrero, where he quickly understood the need for advances in wastewater treatment, motivating him to import the first micro wastewater treatment plant in 2006. Huet enjoyed an athletic career in snowboarding, including two World Championship titles and participation in the Winter Olympics. The same athletic discipline and determination that earned him his sports prestige carries over to his work in Eloy. Eloy America Latina’s parent company, Eloy Water Company, is located in Belgium and was founded in 1965. For more information, please visit www.eloy-cr.com.

Hi-
in your estimation, what would it cost to build a sewer treatment plant for the Playa Tamarindo / Playa Langosta area.

Best regards- PK
