Maria Fernanda Jiménez and Letizia Guglielmino, both friends and teachers, started fighting for a dream 4 years ago. The dream of offering a new educative option for Tamarindo, given the need for better quality in this field, came true.

Educarte was then born. Its objective is to provide children with comprehensive development by analyzing and stimulating the abilities of each student. "It focuses on arts. Educarte Early Learning Center is based on one of the latest and most advanced educative models available; it took 21 years to be developed. It is the only model known for integrating arts, multiple intelligences, and school development. It has been designed to create a society of peace. This model takes into account the latest European findings on pedagogies as to supportive techniques for education," said Guglielmino, and added, "We were born as a kindergarten, but due to our success, and in compliance with the demand of the community, we have expanded our educational levels and facilities into Educarte Primary School. We are in charge of the education of children from two to seven years of age. In September, we started to teach first grade, in accordance with the American calendar program.

According to Martinez, "This institution fosters Costa Rican values and traditions,  providing their students with a sense of belonging; however, we also encourage our students to be citizens of the world, to be tolerant, to not discriminate against any human due to their race, religion, beliefs, or social status. Educarte is waiting for the endorsement of the Ministry of Education, since its program is fully bilingual and all their teachers are certified. The center works according to the program of the Ministry of Education by integrating Music, Agriculture, Ecology, Computer, Swimming, Sports, and Body Expression lessons as complementary subjects of its program, as well as holiday camps. "We have bus service and snacks included. Catering services for lunch are famous in the area for being delicious and abundant. Educarte strongly believes in maintaining its affordable prices, offering quality education at a reasonable price, and offering a place where each child and family will receive individualized attention and treatment. To do so, the groups do not exceed 15 children per classroom. Enrollment is open to all levels," said Letizia.

For further information, please visit their website www.educartecostarica.com or visit their facilities from 7:30am until 2pm, which is also the school’s class schedule. "You will always will be welcomed here with a smile and be treated with kindness because, in Educarte, we are a big family. Educarte will be a model school, by proving that love for what is done, honesty, and hard work bear fruits."

The 57 students and their teachers are on vacation; they will return to their classrooms on January 11th. For further info, please call at any of the following phone numbers: 89-96-0889 // 26-53-8389 // 88-58-5348, or write an email to educartecr@hotmail.com.
