Acccording to Gabriela Valenzuela, secretary of APMT, "Tamarindo needs an Extreme Makeover"
Tamarindo’s economy is based on tourism. Ninety percent of its assets are based on anything generated by the sun and beach tourism, or real estates.
With the vision required, Tamarindo could enjoy a tourist potential that could double its incomes, because it is located in a national park, has a beautiful beach, and has great waves, amazing estuaries, and grand sunsets. To that let’s add a multicultural town with its culinary, sporting, and artistic possibilities.
What happens is that we have not given our town a well defined personality. A look ...
Before, it was a natural product, with its dirt tracks, horses, small boats, huts, and cows. That was its profile. However, with the unplanned development, Tamarindo lost its personality and it is now uncertain.
The importance here is to recognize that behind every development that has been built, the beauty of Tamarindo is still there and it must be renewed.
In a corporation, you can successfully organize the internal infrastructure, but if there is no good product to sell... there will be no sales, and ultimately no profits.
Tamarindo needs everyone, from the most humble person to those who have more buying power, villagers, residents, developers and investors, to regroup and work together to achieve this much needed improvement.
Economically, we cannot afford to leave Tamarindo, just for having differences. The time of division is over. Now is the time to take hands and decide together how could we save “Tamarindo Product,” concluded Valenzuela.
